William “Lynn” Edie

William “Lynn” Edie, 68, of Malvern passed from this earth to his heavenly home, in the early morning hours of Friday, November 17, 2017, at his home, surrounded by family.  Lynn was born on July 6, 1949, in Malvern, to the late Harry and Jeanette Edie.  He was a graduate of Malvern High School and attended Arkansas A&M College (currently UA Monticello).  Lynn was a private contractor in Malvern for over 30 years.  He served his country, in the Army and is a Vietnam Veteran.  He was a member of The First United Methodist Church and the H&E Hunting Club.  His passions included hunting, gardening and woodworking.  He will forever be remembered for his generosity to others and by those he loved the most, for his “Pops’ Pickles.”

 

Lynn is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Norman Edie. 

 

Left to cherish Lynn’s memory is his beloved wife of  43 years, Mary Ann (Herrington) Edie, whom he married on October 11, 1974, a son, Wade Edie (Stacie) and daughter, Ragan (fiancé Aaron Hollingshead), two grandsons, Drake and Koby Edie, sister-in-law, Jean Ryles (Ray), brother-in-law, Johnny Herrington (Carol), all of Malvern and nieces, Shannon Herrington of Malvern, Lindsay Williams-Wallace (Adam) of Greenbrier, Stephanie Edie and Ashlee Lamb of Hot Springs, a nephew, Kyle Edie of Malvern and a host of great friends.

 

There will be no services.  A gathering will be held Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 2-4pm for family and close friends, at the family home.

 

Lynn’s wishes were to be cremated, with strict instruction that his ashes be scattered in the deer woods.

 

The family would like to express special thanks to Kindred Hospice and Home Health, as well as to all of those that have shown an outpouring of love and support throughout this two year battle.
