Obituary

Alvin H. Tittle, age 94 left this Earth on Friday, May 13, 2011, to unite with his Savior, loved ones, and friends. He was born on December 18, 1916, in Big Springs, Texas to the late Henry Tittle and Anne Smith Tittle Strohmeyer. He was a member of Sulpher Springs Missionary Baptist Church, and after serving in the US Army, he volunteered as a driver of the VA van from Hot Springs to Little Rock for many years. He loved traveling, camping, fishing, and antique autos. He worked as a mechanic in Texas and California before moving to Arkansas. He was the owner of Tittle Auto Garage in Hot Springs, Arkansas and loved his work.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Tittle, Anne Smith Tittle Strohmeyer, his first wife, Lorene Moon Tittle, his second wife, Beatrice Chadwick Tittle, his son, Tommy Wayne Tittle, and his sister, Ruth E. Tittle Johansen Thomas.

His survivors include Tommy Wayne Tittle's widow, Vicki Tittle Wilson; grandson, Michael Shea Tittle; two great-grandchildren, Shelby Breean Tittle and Laci Jo Tittle; two step-daughters, Bettie Joanne Chadwick Robinson and Martha Chadwick Lindvall; five step-grandchildren, Teri Robinson Turner and husband Jackie, Tandee Robinson, Mace Robinson and wife Christy, Chad Lindvall, and Brooke Lindvall Bailey; sixteen step-great-grandchildren; fifteen step-great-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-great grandchild; nephews Carl Alvin Johansen, Richard Johansen, Charles Thomas, and Gary Jones; nieces Betty McGill and husband Roy, and Sharon Koller; cousins Walter Maynard, Troy Fowler, Joyce Covington, Turner Smith, Kenneth Smith, Jo Smith, and Gene Boyd, Mike Banks; special friend, Don Barber and family; his caregiver, Terry Lunsford, and his church family.

Visitation and services will be held at Sulpher Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Darryle Sulton and Calvin Isenhower officiating. The visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, followed by the service at 11:00 am. Graveside service will be at Cutter Morning Star Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Billy Wilson, Shea Tittle, Don Barber, Derek Barber, John Jenkins and Steve Rynders.

Local arrangements were entrusted to J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
