Austin Bruce Brashears, II, passed away August 29, 2024.  He was born in Malvern, Arkansas on September 19, 1968, delivered by his father, Dr. Larry Brashears.  He was a graduate of Malvern High School where he was on the football, basketball, and baseball teams.  He was also a graduate of UCA, where he was on the baseball team and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha.  Austin was a member of First United Methodist Church of Malvern, where he and a friend were the first acolytes.  He was kind, quick with a compliment, enjoyed sports, hunting, movies, music and raising cattle.  He loved being with his kids, family, and friends.

He is survived by his children, Austin Bruce Brashears, III, (Trey) and his wife, Katie, and Margaret Kathryn (Meg) Brashears; one grandchild, Dovie Jo Brashears, and another due in November; his parents, Dr. Larry and Linda Brashears; his siblings, Tracie Wright (Hank), Brandi Langdon (Todd), and Ashley Conley (Rory); several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews; and a special friend, Chyra Worthington.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, September 3, 2024 in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Malvern.  A visitation will precede the service, beginning at 12:30.  Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Harbour, Bruce Alpe, Thorpe Breashears, Shawn Purifoy, J. R. Folds, and Larry Williams.
