Bessie M. Stevens, age 86 of Hot Springs, died Friday, September 6, 2013. She was born on February 23, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Vernon Rosenberg and Laura Victor Rosenberg. Reared and receiving her education in Galesburg, Illinois, she was a homemaker. She had been a resident of Hot Springs since 1970 and attended Fourche Loop Baptist Church. Mrs. Stevens was the widow of the late Sidney Stevens, to whom she was married on February 8, 1945. He preceded her in death in 2007.

Her survivors include: three daughters, Sydney S. Overton and her husband Bobby of Malvern, Allyce Timmons and her husband Scott, of Hensley, and Laura Jones and her husband Kenneth of Hot Springs; two brothers, Glen C. Gabbert and Danny Gabbert, both of Galesburg, Illinois; five grandchildren, Todd Overton and his wife Cheryl, Cassie Duncan and her husband Robert, Granger Roberts, Blaine Roberts, and Laura M. Roberts-Jones; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Stevens was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister; a granddaughter, Juanita Overton, and a great-grandchild Dustin Overton.

The funeral will be Monday morning, September 9, 2013, at 9:30, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Reverend Scott Gallimore officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Todd Overton, Kenneth Jones, Scott Timmons, Michael Overton, Blaine Roberts, and Granger Roberts.
