Elizabeth "Betty" Beason, age 89, of Malvern, died Friday, July 22, 2022, at Arbor Oaks.  She was born in Racine, Wisconsin on December 22, 1932, to the late Andrew Ballweg and Clara Schuler Ballweg.  Reared and educated in Malvern, Betty worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for many years.  She was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  Betty was the widow of the late Melvin "Spud" Beason, to whom she was married on December 24, 1949 in Malvern.  He preceded her in death in 2016.

Survivors include her sons, David Andrew Beason of Arizona and Richard T. Beason (Latisa) of Malvern, and a granddaughter, Amanda.

Betty was also preceded in death by her son, Bruce Beason, and a sister, Ida Blyleven.

Graveside services were held on Monday morning, July 25, 2022, at ten o'clock, in the Ouachita Cemetery with Brother Cody Wright officiating, and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
