Betty Roberts Kimzey, seventy-nine, of Magnet Cove, Arkansas, passed away on June 23, 2026. She was born to Herbert and Bessie Rusher Roberts in Malvern, Arkansas on December 14, 1946, and lived in Malvern until her marriage to Jim Kimzey, the love of her life, on April 30, 1965. Together, they raised two daughters who gave her four grandchildren, a great-grandson and a yet to be born great-grandson and great-granddaughter. She was most happy when her family was with her and Jim.

Betty’s life centered around her immense love for her immediate and extended family and her faith in God. Her beautiful and contagious smile was never more radiant than when her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchild were about. She loved to play competitive games – any game which brought the family together and created laughs and memories. She was quick-witted and had an amazing sense of humor which her daughters humorously say could sometimes be a little dark. She practiced and taught common etiquette and was the first call when her daughters needed such advice. She was an amazing homemaker and marvelous cook, the result of her dear Mother’s teaching. She chastised herself for having always felt she could not master baking biscuits to match her Mother’s, but she easily mastered favorites such as dressing, beef stew, chocolate pie, french toast for her grandchildren and so many others. She loved the holidays and decorating for every occasion. She cooked seemingly tirelessly for Thanksgiving and Christmas and seemed to enjoy the process as much as her family enjoyed the end result. She loved to host and to travel with and for family and friends for enjoyment and special events. She always had some type of treat available when her daughters came home from school and for visitors. She was always willing to help people when she could and she enjoyed many years of volunteer service with Welcome Wagon, United Methodist Women and other service in her churches.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Herbert Roberts and John Roberts, and sisters Doris Coston and Katherine Priest. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jim Kimzey, daughters Lana Kimzey Porter (Chris) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Sherry Kimzey Adcock (Randy) of Magnet Cove, Arkansas; grandchildren Kimzey Porter (Carly) of Little Rock, Stephen Porter of Little Rock, Alex Adcock and soon to be wife, Lily of Magnet Cove, and Rebecca Adcock of Magnet Cove; great-grandson Owen Porter of Little Rock; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, Malvern, with The Reverend Bruce Bennett officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Magnet Cove Cemetery, all under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are family members Kimzey Porter, Stephen Porter, Alex Adcock, Steve Roberts, Ricky Priest and Jon Priest.
