Betty Lou Tarver, age 74 of Malvern, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Hot Springs. She was born on March 21, 1939 in Mt. Ida, Arkansas to the late Mace and Ora Scott. Reared and educated in Mt. Ida, she had been a resident of Malvern since January, 1990. She retired from Lake Catherine Footwear after 31 years with the company. She and her husband loved to travel.

Survivors include her husband, Gordon Tarver of Malvern; a son, Allan Stanley of Hot Springs; a sister, Estelle Mayberry of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; four grandchildren.

Betty was also preceded in death by a son, Clay Stanley, and by six siblings.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday afternoon, May 15, 2013 at one o'clock in the Rocky Valley Cemetery near Mt. Ida under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to defray final expenses.
