Bill Edward Sherley, age 72 of Malvern, died Tuesday morning, September 29, 2009 at his home. He was born on April 5, 1937 in Mulberry, Arkansas to the late Cecil and Lena Mae Sims Sherley. Reared and receiving his early education in Crawford County , he finished high school at the Johnson County Junior College . Bill was a long distance trucker, most recently with Continental Express. He had also driven for McAdams. A United States Navy veteran, he had been a resident of Malvern since 1980. He was the widower of the late Betty Sherley.

His survivors include a brother, Clifford Sherley of Malvern, a sister Juanita Buck of Temple, Texas; four children, Doug Sherley, Deanna Sherley, and Donnie Sherley all of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jason Sherley of Bloomington, Illinois; and a number of grandchildren.

Bill was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Surface.

His funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon, October 3, 2009, at three o'clock in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Reverend LaVon Post officiating.

A one hour visitation will precede the service on Saturday beginning at two o'clock.
