Obituary

Bobbie Paul Wright, age 90 of Malvern, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at her home.  She was born in Malvern on September 21, 1933 to the late L. D. Paul and Iona Cunningham Paul.  Reared and receiving her early education in Malvern, she later graduated from Henderson State University.  Bobbie worked in the Malvern public school system for 40+ years as a secretary, librarian, and teacher.  She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority.  After retirement, Bobbie worked with her sisters at Larry's Pizza, a business venture of her son, John.  Bobbie was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, where three generations of her family have worshipped.  Before her health began to fail, she loved tending to her cattle and riding her tractor.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Bobbie was the widow of the late William H. "Bill" Wright, to whom she was married on May 29, 1954.  He preceded her in death in 2009.

She is survived by her sons, Paul Henry (Hank) Wright (Tracie) of Malvern, John David Wright (Lynn) of Alexander; grandchildren, Seth Wright (Tabitha), Logan Wright, Jake Wright, Jake White (Parker), Tara Mahend (Claude), and Natalie White;  eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Jeannie Vaughn (Ki); and her nieces and nephews.

Bobbie was also preceded in death by her siblings, L. D. Paul, Roger Paul, Dean Paul, and Shirley Paul Cooper.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon, May 21, 2024, at one o'clock, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Bobbie's nephew, Blake Paul officiating.  Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Memorial Park.

A visitation will be on Monday everning, May 20, 2024, from six until eight.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Wingo, Bruce Wingo, Blake Wingo, Seth Wright, Jake Wright, and Logan Wright.
