Bobby Godsby, age 70, of Malvern, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014. He was born on September 24, 1943 in Malvern to the late Homer T. Godsby and Opal Taylor Godsby. Reared and educated in Malvern, he worked at Featherlite/Chamberlain Door as a supervisor for over 30 years. He had also worked for Jaybird Manufacturing for nearly 15 years. Bobby was a member of the Central Gospel Lighthouse. He loved to go deer hunting and camping, and was an avid fisherman. Bobby was a doting grandfather and enjoyed playing with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Efird Godsby, to whom he was married on June 2, 1970; by three daughters, Ruth Johnson and her fianc, Johnnie Brattin, Deborah Ray and her husband Keith, and Shirley Champon and her husband Wyeth, all of Malvern; by a brother, Donnie Godsby and his wife, Dorothy; by a sister, Betty Lawrence and her husband, Raymond, all of Malvern; and five grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Jacob T. Ray, Matthew Cox, and Rachel "Gracie" Champon.
Bobby was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Vanessa Johnson.
The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Friday evening from six until eight o'clock.
His funeral will be on Saturday morning, September 27, 2014 at ten o'clock in the Central Gospel Lighthouse with Brothers David Fears and Bob McMullen officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Bayou Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Doug Lawrence, Dustin Lawrence, James Wesoloski, Jr. Wesoloski, Tracy Godsby, Jason Godsby, Ricky Efird, and Micheal Efird.
