Brenda J. Key, age 70 of Malvern, died Sunday, April 22, 2018 in Little Rock. She was born on August 8, 1947 in Manila, Arkansas to the late Johnnie Rae Crites Pearson and Odie Herman Pearson. Reared and receiving her early education in Malvern, she was a 1965 graduate of Malvern High School. She later graduated from Arkadelphia Beauty College, and began her career as a cosmetologist. She retired in 2001 from Key's Klip & Kurl Beauty Salon in Malvern. Brenda was a member of Fair Haven Missionary Baptist Church of Malvern. Her hobbies include photography, writing stories about family, crocheting, reading, camping, boating, fishing, and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Lenford Carlee Key, to whom she was married on December 18, 1964; by a daughter, Carla Rene Wegner and her husband, Corey Lee Wegner of Norfolk, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Kyle Anthony Wegner, Kayla Nicole Wegner, and Kody John Wegner; and a sister, Carolyn Ann McClenahan and her husband, Darrell of Bismarck, Arkansas; and by numerous nieces and nephews

Brenda was also preceded in death by two sisters, Johnnie Ruth McDade and Rita Sue Watts.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, April 25, 2018, from six until eight o'clock.

Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at one o'clock in the funeral home chapel with Brother Tom Lackey officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery near Gurdon.

Pallbearers are: Rick Beals, Marty Nix, Devon Nix, Travis Key, Paul Key, and Jacob McDade.

Honorary pallbearers are: William Beals, Thomas McDade, and Wayne McDade.
