Carol Corder, age 80 of Malvern, died Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Encore Nursing and Rehab in Malvern.  She was born on July 9, 1944, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the late Beryl Owen and Flodean Boatwright Owen. She was reared and educated in the Dollarway school district.  During her career, Carol had worked for Arkansas Power and Light (Entergy) for over five years, and was a sales person for Wabash Alloys for over ten years.  She was the wife of Howard Corder, to whom she was married on December 28, 1963.  They moved to Malvern in 1979.  Carol and Howard attended First United Methodist Church in Malvern where they volunteered every year, helping with the Community Holiday Meals, put on by the church.  She was a wonderful cook, a loving wife and mother, and a faithful friend.  She is at peace.

Carol is survived by her husband, Howard; two sons, Howard Corder, Jr. and his wife, Yvonne, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Clay Corder of Malvern; and two grandchildren, Ian and Bailey Corder.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Darrell (Sonny) Owen.

A memorial service will be held on Friday morning, January 3, 2025, at 10:00, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, with Terry Secrest delivering the eulogy, and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

A special thanks goes to the nurses and staff of Encore for their loving care of Carol.
