Carol C. Gage Cooper, age 80 of Magnet Cove, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Baptist Health Medical-Hot Spring County. She was born on August 17, 1936 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to the late Lester Coston and Gertrude Taylor Coston. Reared and receiving her early education in Magnet Cove, she graduated from Kilgore, Texas High School, where she was a member of the Kilgore Ranger-Ettes. She was an accomplished pianist, and in her youth, sang and played piano on the radio in Kilgore. She had owned Evans Electric Motor Company and had been an active member of the Malvern Chamber of Commerce. In her later years, she was involved in the information technology sector. She was an avid birdwatcher, loved gardening, and was an amateur geologist. Carol was a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon D. C. Cooper, Jr.to whom she was married on May 16, 1997; by two brothers, David Coston and his wife, Joyce of Hot Springs, and Warren Coston and his wife, Linda, of Malvern; by a sister, Gail Hart of Magnet Cove; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was also preceded in death by a sister, Corene Coston.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home beginning at two o'clock, followed by the funeral service at three o'clock. Brother Charlie Williams will officiate and interment will be in Magnet Cove Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Michael Coston, David Alan Coston, Scott Hart, and David Tiner.

Honorary pallbearers are Darren Cooper and Wayne Cooper.

The family will be headquartered at their residence.

Memorials are requested to the Magnet Cove Cemetery Association.
