Wanda King Burns, age 85 of Malvern, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at her home. She was born on July 22, 1933 in Beaton, Arkansas to the late William Norman King and Beulah Diffee King. Wanda was reared and educated in Bismarck, Arkansas. On December 24, 1949 she married Cecil K. Burns. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2013. Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for over 50 years. She was a Cub Scout den mother, and was active in the Pratt Elementary PTA. For many years during the election cycles, she served as Judge/Clerk for Ward 3. From 1967 until 1982, Wanda was a salesperson for the Bonette Dress/Beauty Shop.
She is survived by her son Randall Burns and his wife, Kay of Magnet Cove; her daughter, Lisa Burns Carpenter of Malvern; three grandchildren, Kristin Ashley, Kacee McCain, and Jeffrey Burns; great-grandchildren, Estella Rose Carpenter and Silas Scott McCain; and a brother, William Norman King, Jr. (Uncle Butch) of Bismarck.
The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Friday evening from five until seven o'clock.
Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Saturday afternoon, September 22, 2018 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church with Brother Billy Bartlett officiating. Interment will follow in Fairplay Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Greg King, Bobby King, Scott Walters, Steve Hiegel, Ben McCain, and Don Collins.
