Donnie Carroll Fitzhugh, age 72 of Malvern, died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Hot Springs.  He was born on May 17, 1951, in Malvern to the late Harold Fitzhugh and Daphine Rosewell Fitzhugh.  Reared and educated in Hot Spring County, he was a graduate of Magnet Cove High School.  He was a welder/fabricator for 30 years, and worked for Instrument Supply Company, a manufacturer of septic systems. Mr. Fitzhugh was a Methodist.  He was the widower of the late Mary Lawrence Fitzhugh, who preceded him in death on April 28, 2016.  An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish, enjoyed going to the beach, and floating the river.  He loved to work in his yard and grew beautiful flowers.  A doting father and grandfather, time with his family was very important to him.

He is survived by his son, James Fitzhugh (Hope) of Malvern; a brother, Ricky Fitzhugh (Reba) of Malvern; his stepfather, James Norris of Hot Springs; and his grandson, Haytham Fitzhugh.

A visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 Saturday morning, June 24, 2023, at J. A. Funk Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Lono Cemetery, beginning at 12:15p.m.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Langley, Robert Rowe, J. R. Fitzhugh, Aaron Hollingshead, Elton Paul, and Braxton Harley.
