Obituary

Charlene Skinner Draper, age 81 of Malvern, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in Hot Springs.  She was born in Rolla, Arkansas on April 24, 1942 to the late Charles Fredrick Skinner and Lela Pearl Elliott Skinner.  Reared and educated in Hot Spring County, Charlene was a cosmetologist, having operated her own beauty shop for many years.  She also worked at Malvern Nursing Home for 15 years as a CNA.  She was the widow of the late David F. Draper, to whom she was married on January 4, 1961 in Donaldson, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death in 2009. Charlene was an avid hunter and fisher, and she loved her family dearly.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church.  Charlene was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Willene Burroughs, and her half-sister, Rita Caroline Darnall.

Survivors include her children, Leah Rice of Colorado; Joe Draper of Malvern; Monica Morrison (Denver) of Donaldson; and Keith Draper (Shelia) of Malvern; one brother, Truman Skinner (Twyla) of Sheridan, a half-sister, Sue Spraggs (Terry) of Missouri; grandchildren, Beth Jenkins (Joe), Candice Roemmick, Victoria Madigan (Sean), Cecil T. Rice, Stephen Morrison (Leslie), Spencer Morrison (Kim), Ashley Moore (Greg), Scott Morrison, Kayla Moore (Steven), Leslie Draper, and Trey Draper; step-grandchildren, April Casey (Harold), James Tims (Brandy), Elizabeth Smith (Will); great-grandchilden, Quinton Rice-Musial, Hendrix Jenkins, Tristen Jenkins, Kyliemarie Roemmick, Arson Ashbaugh, Ellie Rice, Kynzie Madigan, Lynux Madigan, Chase Morrison, Kylee Morrison, Lanny Morrison, Payton Morrison, Autumn Moore, Ethan Moore, Brozia Lamb, Keith Lamb; step-great-grandchildren, Grant Casey, Will Casey, Matthew Tims (Meadow), Summer Tims, Carson Tims, Lacey Sykes, Hunter Tims, Kameryn Beasley (Janessa), Brylie Smith Aubrey Smith, Cheyenne Moore, Hunter Moore, Brady Moore; three step-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 16, 2024 at two o'clock in the afternoon, in the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Alex Skinner and Brother Eric Ivy officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

Visitation will be on Friday evening, March 15, 2024, from five until seven o'clock at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Stephen Morrison, Spencer Morrison, Scott Morrison, Trey Draper, Greg Moore, and Steven Moore.

Honorary pallbearers are: Chase Morrison and Payton Morrison.

The family will be at 927 Dingler Road, Malvern.
