Charles Lloyd "Sonny" Nusko, age 61 of Hot Springs, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 in the St. Joseph's Mercy Health Center. He was born in Malvern on May 20, 1946 to Opal Faye Rhodes Nusko and the late Bernard N. Nusko. Reared and receiving his education in Hot Springs, he attended the First Step School, which was organized by his parents. Sonny worked at Abilities Unlimited in Hot Springs, an organization that evolved from First Step. He and his entire family were members of First Baptist Church in Hot Springs. Sonny loved his Sunday School class and his pastor, Brother John and all the class members were very special to him. Sonny was the eldest of three children. His sister Elizabeth Ann Nusko, and his brother Bernard Nusko, Jr. also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his mother, Opal Faye Nusko of Hot Springs, and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Sonny's funeral will be on Tuesday afternoon, July 3, 2007, at two o'clock in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home in Malvern, with Dr. Verne Wickliffe officiating. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be members of Sonny's Sunday School Class from First Baptist Church in Hot Springs.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon, one hour prior to the service.

Memorials are requested to Abilities Unlimited in Hot Springs.
