Obituary

Charles F. "Chuck" Specht, Jr., age 81, of Malvern, died Friday morning, February 19, 2016 in Hot Springs. He was born on May 14, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Charles F. Specht, Sr. and Josephine Maloney Specht. Reared and educated in Chicago, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Moving to Arkansas in 1979, he and his wife owned and operated the KOA Campground in Benton until 1995, when they moved to Malvern. He attended Rockport United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Battaglia Specht, to whom he was married on December 19, 1953 in Chicago; by a son, Toby Specht (Stacy) of Saline County; a daughter, Melissa Specht of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Robert Specht of Chicago; a sister, Joanne Franceschini of Plant City, Florida; and by four grandchildren, Chase Specht, Katie Specht, Bradley Coker and Justin Coker. He will be sorely missed by his pup, B. J.

A memorial service will be held at eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, February 23, 2016 in the sanctuary of Rockport United Methodist Church with Reverend Troy Cate officiating and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to the Rockport United Methodist Church.
