Obituary

Clyde D. Hughes, age 86 of Malvern, died Thursday, May 23, 2019 in Hot Springs.  He was born in the New DeRoche Community near Malvern on September 7, 1932 to the late James B. Hughes and Rosie Burris Hughes.  Reared and educated in Malvern, he was the owner of Clyde's Landscaping for over 30 years.  Clyde loved to go boating, was an avid fisherman, and doted on his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Phillips Hughes, to whom he was married on March 8, 1952 in Malvern; his daughters, Nancy Jenkins and her husband, Bobby of Malvern, and Becky Coltrain and her husband, George, of Batesville; a son, Phillip Hughes of Malvern; a brother, Lyndal Hughes of Malvern; two sisters, Joyce Francis of Gurdon, and Brenda Jones of Hurst, Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan, Andy, Jessica, Zoey, and Phoebe; and three great-grandchildren, Lily, Dallas, and Cheyanne.

Clyde was also preceded in death by several siblings.

A memorial service will be held at one o'clock Saturday afternoon, May 25, 2019 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brothers Tim Carpenter and Bryon Hughes officiating.
