David E Gilbert, age 69 of Malvern, died June 3, 2011 in the St. Joseph Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs. He was born in Malvern on February 6, 1942 to the late Doyle and Dottie Gilbert. Reared and educated in Malvern, he married Josiane Calmes on June 13, 1964 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. David was a machinist at Reynolds. David was an avid hunter and enjoyed horse racing.

His survivors include his wife Josiane; daughter, Jenann Smith; sister Roberta Davidson; sister in laws; Monique Dupontx and Annie Calmes and 2 custodial grandchildren, Frankie Wilson and Josiane Wilson.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter Michelle, brother Floyd Gilbert and his parents.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home from noon to one o'clock on Sunday, June 5, 2011.

A graveside funeral will be on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at two o'clock at the Round Hill Cemetery.

Memorials are requested to the Malvern Hunt Club.
