Dexter Hill, age 80 of Malvern, died Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Encore Healthcare and Rehab.  He was born in Malvern on March 6, 1945 to the late Gayle Hill and Marie Gillespie Hill.  Reared and receiving his early education here, he graduated Malvern High School with the class of 1964.  He finished his course of study in HVAC at Quapaw Vo-Tech in Hot Springs, working in that field from 1988-1992.  For many years, Dexter was a tool and die maker, being employed at Hoover Ball and Bearing and later, Precision Industries.  He was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church of Malvern.  Dexter was a good man.  He was an imposing figure, but was gentle as a lamb.  After his retirement, he drove folks to doctors appointments and ran errands for anyone in need.  He was an avid John Wayne fan, and in the day, enjoyed chatting on his CB radio.  His handle was "Jelly Belly".  10-4, good buddy!

He is survived by his son, Thomas "Tom" Hill and his wife, Colette of Donaldson; his sister, Tommie Pittman Gray of Arizona; nine grandchildren, Briana, Tyler, Jonathan, Madelyn, Gracie, Samuel, Rebeka, Tanner, and Ruby; by one great-grandchild, and one on the way.

Dexter was also preceded in death by a son, Jon Hill; his sister, Sarah Hill; his aunt and uncles, Dorothy Gillespie, Thomas Gillespie, and Roland Gillespie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 Wednesday morning, May 14, 2025, in the sanctuary of 1st Presbyterian Church in Malvern, with Reverend Courtney Bacon-Latina officiating and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.  Private committal and interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers are his friends, classmates, and co-workers.
