Obituary

Don Quinn Baker, age 64 of Malvern, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 8, 2013. He was born on November 24, 1948 in Malvern to the late Doyle E. Baker and Barbara Clemons Baker. Reared and receiving his early education in Malvern, he later earned his Associate Degree in Applied Technology from Garland County Community College. He was a United States Army veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam, and was the recipient of a Bronze Star. Don was a member of Taylors Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and was a Mason. For many years he was a long distance trucker.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Fite Baker, to whom he was married on September 25, 1998 in Pine Bluff; a son, John Baker (Tammy) of Tennessee; two brothers, George Baker of Malvern, and Allen Baker of Vancleave, Mississippi; one sister, Bonnie Sorrels of Maumelle; and three grandchildren.

Don was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Annice Hendrix and Molly Jo Burks.

His funeral will be held at ten o'clock Wednesday morning, September 11, 2013 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Ron Parrish and Elder Jesse Stripland officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in the Round Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from four until six o'clock.
