Don F. Roberts, age 72 of Lonoke, died Thursday night, October 27, 2011 in Little Rock . He was born on November 26, 1938 in Hempstead County , Arkansas to Anne Barbaree Roberts and the late Roy Dee Roberts. Reared and receiving his early education in Hope, he graduated from Hope High School with the class of 1956. He later earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees while attending Henderson State University . Don was a counselor, having worked for the Elizabeth Mitchell Children's Center, and had been a therapist for G.A.I.N. (Greater Assistance to those In Need). He was also past director for Easter Seals of Arkansas, and state director of the American Diabetes Association. Don was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lonoke.

His survivors include a son, Brett Lee Roberts and his wife, Emily of Springdale; a daughter, Maggie Lee and her husband Ron of Fayetteville; the mother of his children and first wife, Connie Matlock Roberts; 9 grandchildren; his mother, Anne Ward of Ft. Worth, Texas, two sisters, Darlene Brown and Barbara Phena Moses; and his friend and former wife, Julie Shafer.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2001, at two o'clock in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
