Donald E. Bailey, age 92 of Malvern, died Thursday, July 9, 2015 in the local hospital. He was born in Malvern on April 7, 1923 to the late Emory Lawrence Bailey and Gladys Fitzhugh Bailey. Reared and educated in Malvern, he retired from the State Plant Board in the Apiary Section as chief inspector. He was a member of Traskwood United Methodist Church. Mr. Bailey was a licensed pilot and was fond of flying Piper Cubs. A railroad enthusiast, he was a member of the Cotton Belt Rail Historical Society. He was the widower of the late Theresa Lee Bailey, to whom he was married on October 20, 1945. She preceded him in death in 2013.

He is survived by his children, Larry Bailey and his wife, Jennie of Mabelvale, and Jeffery Bailey of Malvern; one brother, Weldon Bailey of Colorado, two sisters, Judy Bailey Parker and Gloria Beth Bailey, both of Malvern; two grandchildren, Lisa McDonald, and Kimberly Bonds; four great-grandchildren, Cassidy McDonald, Cameron McDonald, Natalie Burns, and Brody Lane Bonds.

His funeral will be at two o'clock Monday afternoon, July 13, 2015 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service by one hour, beginning at one o'clock.
