Dorothy Mae Ellis, age 63 of Malvern, died early Wednesday morning, July 29, 2009 in the Baptist Health Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was born in Bastrop , Louisiana on April 9, 1946 to Floyd and Beatrice Williams Beck. Reared and educated in Malvern, she was a homemaker and the widow of the late Dwight Ellis, to whom she was married on August 1, 1963. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1990. She loved to garden and was an avid reader.

Her survivors include a son, Dwight Ellis of Malvern; two daughters, Sherry and her husband Joe Boyer and Kim and her husband Roger Hammonds, all of Arkadelphia; a brother, Stanley and his wife Jackie Beck of Glenwood, Arkansas; two sisters, Marie Milam, and Linda and her husband Bob McMullen; her mother and step-father Beatrice and B. L. Head, all of Malvern; five grandchildren, Amanda and her husband Christopher Montgomery, Marcus Boyer, Hannah, Holly, and Hunter Hammonds; three great-grandchildren, Colby and Corbin Montgomery, and Carson McDaniel; and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was also preceded in death by her father.

The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon, July 31, 2009, at two o'clock, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brothers Harry Stone and Nathan Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnet Cove Cemetery .

Pallbearers are: Todd Ellis, Jake Dyer, D. J. Horton, Ashley House, Curtis Greeno, and Billy Beck.

Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Brad Baltz, her grandsons and great-grandsons, and all her nephews.

Visitation will be from six until eight o'clock Thursday evening at the mortuary.
