Obituary

Dottie Sonder, age 63 of Malvern, died Monday, October 16, 2023, at her home.  She was born on November 9, 1959, in Phoenix, Arizona to the late George Albert Daniel and Ethel Mae Veorster Daniel.  Growing up in California, in 1972 she moved with her family to Colorado, where she graduated from Aurora Central High School.  On April 15, 1985, she married the love of her life, K Dean Sonder in Denver, Colorado.  He preceded her in death in 2018, after a 20-year illness, during which Dottie was his constant caregiver.  Dottie had been a resident of Malvern since 2019.  During her working life, she was a data processor for United Parcel Service, and for the Rocky Mountain News newspaper.  She loved surfing the internet, was an avid reader, and loved tending to her fur babies.  Dottie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).

She is survived by her sisters, Patty Lewter (David) of Malvern, and Debbie Lockhart (Wayne) of Humphrey, Arkansas; her fur babies, Buster, Gator, and Anna; brother-in-law, Trey Roth of Colorado; many nieces and nephews; the Sonder family; and aunts and uncles, including Clara Lusk of Stuttgart, Goldie Ivanoski, Henry and Shirley Veorster, and Evelyn Lane, all of Kingsland, Arkansas; and Jimmy and Peggy Beutler of Arizona.

Dottie was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Roth; a brother George Leslie Daniel and his wife, Karen; and nieces, Christina Roth and Trinity Schwab.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 Saturday afternoon, November 25, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Malvern Avenue in Hot Springs.

The family acknowledges all of Dottie's caregivers for all the extra support she received.
