Douglass Wayne "Stump" Harris, age 66, of Diamondhead, died Sunday evening, December 20, 2015 at his home. He was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on September 9, 1949 to the late Frank Craven Harris and Martha Lucille Smith Harris. Reared and receiving his early education in Hot Springs, he later attended Henderson State University. He was an agent with Nationwide Insurance. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was also a motorcycle enthusiast. Stump loved watching his grandkids play sports. For a number of years he was a greeter at Summit Arena during the Sunbelt Tournaments. He loved to cook and considered himself a "spice expert", having blended his own rub, which he called "Stump's Rub", and he graciously shared it with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Walters Harris, to whom he was married on April 7, 2010; a daughter, Amy Huskey (Joe), a son, Chad Harris, and a step-daughter, Kim Carmack, all of Hot Springs; step-children, Russell Byers, Brian Byers, and Amber Harmon, all of Malvern, Allison Lovell of Greenbrier; a brother, Kenny Evans (Joan), and a sister, Susan Sanders, all of Hot Springs; 17 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild on the way.

Memorial service will be held at two o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, December 23, 2015 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home in Malvern, with Reverend Courtney Bacon-Latina officiating. A visitation will precede the service, beginning at one o'clock.
