Emma Eliza (Liz) Hollingsworth, age 83, of Hot Springs , died at her home on Lake Hamilton, Monday, August 5, 2013. She was born on June 24, 1930 in Goldsboro, North Carolina to the late Jack Newsome and Emma Eliza Walters Newsome. Reared and educated in North Carolina, she had been a resident of Arkansas since 1944. During World War II, she worked in the ship yards, aiding the war effort. For a great part of her working life, she was a bookkeeper for several area businesses, including Glenvale Products and Malvern Wood Products. Mrs. Hollingsworth was a wonderful cook, loved to fish and deer hunt, and was an avid quilter. She was Methodist by denomination.

She is survived by two sons, Sheriff Ed Hollingsworth and his wife Sherri, of Malvern, and Ken Hollingsworth and his wife Kathy of Arkadelphia; two sisters, Janice Swindler of Ohio, and Adine Kerney of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Jason, Mike, and Charlie Hollingsworth; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Hollingsworth was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Matthew Hollingsworth and Timothy Hollingsworth; and by two sisters and three brothers.

A graveside service will be held on Friday morning, August 9, 2013 at ten o'clock in the Shadowlawn Cemetery with Reverend Don Robinson officiating, and under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

There will be no visitation.
