Eulice Edwin "Ed" Bain, age 96 of Malvern, died Sunday, January 29, 2023 in Little Rock.  Ed was born on March 19, 1926, in Nashville, Arkansas to the late U. B. Bain and Louise Walker Bain.  Reared and educated in Nashville, he had been a resident of Malvern since 1987.  Ed was a United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II and was wounded in action in the battle of Okinawa, for which he received the Purple Heart.  He was a member of South Main Missionary Baptist Church, the VFW, and the National Purple Heart Honor Society.  He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.  He worked as an institutional food salesman and sold restaurant equipment and supplies for 30 years.  Ed was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Sarah Jean Davis Bain in 1997, and his second wife, Lenora Butler Gage Bain in 2017.

He is survived by his children, Thomas Bain (Nancy) of Edgewood, New Mexico, and Jerry Bain (Jane) of Arkadelphia; his stepchildren, Joe Gage, Duffie Gage, Kay Richey, Doris Maupin, Ruby Stewart, and Don Gage; a brother, Dale Bain of Bauxite; two sisters, Inez Cumbie and Ramona Elrod of Benton; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Ed was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Bain; two brothers, George and Joe Bain; and a sister, Margaret Aylett.

His funeral will be at two o'clock Friday afternoon, February 3, 2023, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.  A visitation will precede the service, beginning at one o'clock.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at Taylor Cemetery in Leola.
