Eva Mae Elliott Voss, of Malvern, died Sunday in the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born in Rolla, Arkansas to the late Floyd and Ada Sulton Elliott. Reared and receiving her early education in Hot Spring County, she later attended Henderson State University. In her early high school years, she was an All-County basketball player, developing a lifetime love for the game. While serving as the Juvenile Probation Officer of Hot Spring County for 21 years, she graduated in 1979 from the National College of Juvenile Justice at the University of Reno, Nevada. After her retirement, she worked as secretary for Judge William C. Gilliam. Eva Mae was a member of the First Baptist Church of Malvern, and had been an appointee to the Governor's Board of Probation for the State of Arkansas. She was the widow of the late Earl Voss, to whom she was married on May 5, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1969.

She is survived by one son, Larry Voss of Shreveport, Louisiana; by her daughter, Judy McNamar and her husband Ron, of Malvern; by her two granddaughters, Amber Briner and her husband Dylan; Darcy Parish and her husband Cody, all of Malvern; her precious great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Leigh Briner, on whose second birthday her MeMe died; by her brother and his wife, Don and Lemona Elliott of Malvern; by her sister, Geraldine Stapf of Long Beach, California; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Eva Mae was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Voss; three sisters, Florine Overton, Ruby Harkins, and Jewell Gray; and by a niece, Jeannie Carman.

Her funeral will be on Wednesday morning, August 22, 2007, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church with Dr. Verne Wickliffe officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill cemetery with Reverend J. Stephen Wingo leading the committal.

Pallbearers will be: Gary Gray, Jimmy Voss, David Alpe, Eric Hart, Claud Davis, and Darryel Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. L. B. Brashears, Linda Brashears, and Dr. Brad Baltz and staff.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from six until seven o'clock at the J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
