Ruth Banks, age 87 of Malvern, died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at her home. She was born on April 29, 1930 in Cairo, Illinois to the late Charles E. Steinhouse and Ruth E. Johnson Steinhouse. Reared and educated in Cairo, she moved from Houston, Texas to Malvern after the death of her husband. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Houston, and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo. Frances was the widow of the late Robert L. Banks, a Malvern native, to whom she was married on July 9, 1953. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2016.

She is survived by her nephews, John Steinhouse and Bob Banks; and by her nieces, Stacey Banks and Virginia Fox.

Frances was also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Schaefer, and by a brother, Charles Steinhouse.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at eleven o'clock Friday morning, June 16, 2017 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, Illinois under the direction of Crain Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Calvary Cemetery in Villa Ridge, Illinois.
