Frances C. Zimmerman, age 92, of Malvern, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in the Hot Spring County Medical Center. She was born in Sheffield, Alabama on March 1, 1921 to the late Andrew Monroe Coons and Jimmie Margaret Anderson Coons. Reared and educated in Alabama, she was a homemaker and the widow of the late Frank Zimmerman, to whom she was married on July 24, 1943 in Sheffield, Alabama. He preceded her in death in 1999. Frances was an active member of First United Methodist Church and its Friendship Sunday School Class. She was also a member and past president of the United Methodist Women. She was an avid bridge player, and was a past member of the Green Thumb Designer Club and the Malvern Horticulture Club.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Debbie Zimmerman of Springfield, Missouri; her daughter, Margaret Z. Barnhard of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; her brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Jacque Coons of Wesson Mississippi; her grandchildren, Kimberly Green Maddox (Ryan), Kellie Zimmerman Stauffer (David), Kristie Zimmerman, and Jared Zimmerman Barnhard; five great-grandchildren, Regan, Lucas, and Preston Maddox, Henry John and Charlie David Stauffer; three nieces, three nephews, and a host of great-nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

Frances was also preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Monroe Coons, Jr.

Her funeral will be held at eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013 in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church with Reverend LaVon Post officiating. Interment will follow in Rockport Memorial Gardens under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: John Cunningham, George McClure, Jim Fuller, Chuck Shryock, and her nephews, Drew and Robert Coons.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to First United Methodist Church.
