Obituary

Fred Allen Davis, age 76 of Sparkman, Arkansas, died Monday, September 25, 2017 in Little Rock. He was born in Fordyce, Arkansas on August 2, 1941 to the late Reginald C. Davis and Carmen Josephine Gross Davis. Reared and educated in Little Rock, he had been a resident of Sparkman for the past 33 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved to go fishin' and huntin'. He was a strict practitioner of Southern Gastronomy, and often said, "If it ain't fried, it ain't food!" For 40 years he worked as a truck driver and a mechanic.

Fred was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and attended the Caddo Valley Kingdom Hall.

He is survived by a son, Fred Davis, Jr. and his wife, Candy, of Leslie, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Fred Allen Davis, III, and Glenna Davis and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary Owens and his wife, Ava, of Coldwater, Michigan; and a sister, Regina Cavender and her companion, Bill Parker, of Little Rock, who both cared for Fred for a number of years.

Fred was also preceded in death by a brother, Leon Kaylon Davis.

There will be no services, but his ashes will be buried by his mother in Cypress Cemetery at Willow, Arkansas.
