Garnelle Funk Clifton Cheatham, age 93 of Malvern, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at her residence. She was born at Willow, Arkansas on September 19, 1921 to the late Walter Isaac Funk and Mary Ophelia Boyt Funk. A member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, she was the loving and doting matriarch of her family. She was the widow of James Hudson Clifton, her husband of 59 years, and James L. "Buster" Cheatham, to whom she was married for ten years.

Survivors include: her children, James E. Clifton (Virginia), M. Sharon Combs, and Mary Etta Blasingame (Dan); grandchildren: April Mullen (Dan), Alesa Lambert, Connie Abudll-Haq (Gary), Daniel Blasingame (Karen), Michael Blasingame (Rachael), Katgy Ray (Bryan), D. J. Howard, David Howard (Julie); great-grandchildren: Jacob Lambert (Sarah), Lauren Lambert, James Mullen, John Mullen, Ranen Blasingame, Ashli Blasingame, Savannah Sipes, Ophelia, Victor, and Fiona Blasingame, Jordyn Abudll-Haq, William and David Thomson, Krista Teague (Jessie); great-great-grandchildren: Dewey Lambert and Maggie, Isaac, and Phoebe Lambert; and by a double first cousin, Elmer Funk.

Garnelle was also preceded in death by grandsons Brent and James Clifton, and great-grandson, Aiden Lambert.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, April 22, 2015 from five until seven o'clock.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock in the funeral home chapel with Brother Maxie Haynes and Brother Donis Smead officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Cemetery at Willow.

Pallbearers will be: Gary Abudll-Haq, Michael Blasingame, Daniel Blasingame, Odis Don Funk, Larry Funk, and Adam Hearnsberger.
