George William "Billy" Deimel, III, age 47, of Malvern, died Thursday evening, November 8, 2007, in the National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. He was born in Malvern on November 10, 1959 to Nell Franks Deimel and the late George William Deimel, Jr. Reared and educated in Malvern, he was a 1978 graduate of Malvern High School. Billy was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. He was an avid sports fan, and had coached little league and T-Ball. Despite a severe spinal cord injury in 2002, Billy never gave up hope that one day he would be cured. He was a constant inspiration to those around him, and especially to those enduring a similar malady.
He is survived by three sons, George William "B. J." Deimel, IV, of Little Rock, Cameron and Caleb Deimel of Malvern; by four sisters, Deborah Bean of Grenada Hills, California, Susan Deimel of Pearcy, Robin Wernz of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tammy Dighero of Fayetteville; by his mother, Nell Deimel, of Malvern; and by his fiancee, Jennifer Fryar and her two sons, Trevor and Triston Fryar, all of Hot Springs.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ten o'clock on Monday morning, November 12, 2007, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Malvern, with Father Linus Ukomadu as celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Rockport Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
A Rosary will be said on Sunday evening, November 11, 2007, beginning at six o'clock, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home, with a visitation immediately afterward.
