Obituary

George Fisher Weaver, 70, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 26, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

Born on November 21, 1955, he was the son of the late George D. Weaver and Hannah Sue Duffie Weaver of Malvern.  George was a graduate of Malvern High School and Henderson State University.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is survived by his sister, Nell Weaver Lyford, and his brother-in-law, Robert M. Lyford, of St. Louis.  He is also survived by his nephew, Charles Weaver Lyford and his wife, Amber Schubert of Little Rock, and by his niece, Kate G. Lyford, her husband, Evan Kuhn and his great-niece, Ophelia Weaver Kuhn, all of St. Louis.

George is also survived by his first cousins, Rebecca Weaver Sanders and Jo Weaver McCain, of Little Rock, William L. (Bill) Massey of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Beth M. Maddox, of Keller, Texas.

He will be remembered by his friends and family for his sense of fun, his keen intelligence and most of all, for his kindness.

The family requests that any memorials be sent to the George D. and Hannah Sue Weaver Endowment Fund, Arkansas Baptist Foundation, 10 Remington Drive, Little Rock, AR, 72204.  The Weaver Endowment supports the Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief's efforts.

The family celebrated George's life in a private graveside ceremony in Malvern's Oakridge Cemetery.  All arrangements by J.A. Funk Funeral Home.
