Grady Doyle Garner, age 75 of Alexandria, Indiana, died Monday June 28, 2010. He was born on November 27, 1934 in Amity, Arkansas to the late Virgil "Red" and Doris Garner. He had been a resident of Indiana since 1964. He retired from Delco-Remy in 1997 after 30 years of employment. He had also worked as a typesetter for the Alexandria times-Tribune. He owned and operated Grady Garner Real Estate of Alexandria and was a former Pinkerton Guard. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Indiana Realtor's Association and the Indiana Auctioneer's Association.

His survivors include his wife Barbara Woods Garner, to whom he was married on November 5, 1955; six daughters, Jane (David) Hummel, Dianna Wilson, and Teresa (Brett) Etchison, all of Alexandria, Anita Garner of Noblesville, Valeria (Bret) Taber of Martinez, California, Karen (Scott) King of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida; a son, Rick (Angelia) Garner of Belton, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Cleda (Herman) Ledbetter of Pampa, Texas; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Hummel and by two brothers.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Saturday, July 3, 2010 from eleven thirty until one o'clock in the afternoon. A graveside service will follow at two-thirty at the Jones Cemetery in Amity, Arkansas.
