Harold H. Harrington, age 93 of Social Hill, died Monday, August 5, 2013 at his home. He was born on March 2, 1920 in Riggold, Oklahoma to the late Martin Melvin Harrington and Elizabeth Brashears Harrington. Reared and receiving his education in Frogville, Oklahoma, he has been a resident of Arkansas for nearly 50 years. He served in World War II and the Korean War. As a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army, he served in the Philippines under General Douglas

MacArthur. After his military obligation ended, he worked as a deputy sheriff in Hugo, Oklahoma. He was a pipeline worker, and also built lakes in many areas of the country, while working in the construction field. He was a millwright for Weyerhaeuser in Valliant, Oklahoma, the company from which he retired. In his later years, he enjoyed playing dominoes and collecting ball caps. He was the widower of the late Betty Louise McCauley Harrington, to whom he was married on November 7, 1960. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2008.

Mr. Harrington was also preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers, and by two sons, Billy Harold "Buster" Harrington and Bobby Harrington, by a daughter, Beverly Alexander, and a granddaughter, Jordan Harrington.

He is survived by his daughter, Melody Phillips (Richard) of Malvern; his son, Harold H. Harrington, Jr. of Swink, Oklahoma, two step-sons, Steve Blodgett (Cathy) of Bismarck, and David Mattingly (Kathy) of Donaldson; a step-daughter, Georgie Mattingly (Robyn Ray) of Eureka Springs; a brother, V. H. Harrington (Dorothy) of Salt Lake City, Utah; 23 grandchildren, Kimberley Morris (James), Jacob Harrington, Jamie Harrington, Christy Welch, Billy Wayne Harrington, Duane and Aaron Alexander, Kassandra Harrington, Robert Jason Harrington, Lance and Aaron Mattingly, Sarah Gardner, Alicia Wright, Justin and Marissa Blodgett, Adam Howell, Kayln Kemp, Brittney Shirley, Layla Shirley, Kaylie Smith, Mitchell and Michael Fischer; 15 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and by his canine companions, Peanut, Cricket, Sally, and Baby, his birds, Chuckie and Willie, and four cats, Queen Evelyn, Tarzan, Longlegs, and Spot.

Memorial service will be on Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2013, at two o'clock in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Richard Phillips officiating.
