Helen Inglis Ward-Miller, age 88 of Malvern, died Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. She was born in Magnet Cove on October 14, 1927 to the late John Foster Inglis and Alice Lawrence Inglis. Reared and receiving her early education here, she graduated from Malvern High School in 1944. She later attended Denton (Texas) Women's University, and the St. Louis (Missouri) School of Nursing. Helen was a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and was director of the Hot Spring County March of Dimes crusade during the 1950's and 1960's. She loved to travel and to collect bells. Helen was co-owner of Murry's (ESSO) Exxon from 1946 until 1975; worked at the local Revenue Office for four years; and was employed at the Westinghouse plant in Little Rock for 13 years.
She is survived by three children, John Ralph Murry of Gilmer, Texas, Jerry Murry and his special friend Roseanne Todd of Malvern, and Shirley Henry and her husband, Skeeter of Traskwood; step-children, David Ward (Kathy), Barbara Erwin (Bill), and Dane Ward, Bill and Barb Miller, Nancy and Joe Ohm; a sister, Bea Kassees of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren, Chad Fite, Michael Murry, Vance Murry, John Murry, Andrea Murry, Brian and Jason Henry; eight great-grandchildren, Tucker and Hunter Fite, Shaley Tolbert, Madison and Dawson Henry, Abigail Henry, Marley Murry, and Zane Murry; step-grandchildren, Aaron Ward (Lori), Shelly DuPree, Bryan Erwin, Allison Whitmire, (Nathan); Billy Miller and Natalie Wright (Eli), Seth Ohm and Meagan Gasper; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
Helen was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Orval Murry, and husbands Todd Ward and William L. Miller; and two of her sisters, Joyce Johnson and Estelle Vaughn.
Graveside services will be held at ten o'clock Monday morning, July 11, 2016 at Resthaven Cemetery with Reverends Lloyd Perry and Jeff Ladd officiating.
Visitation will be on Sunday afternoon from three until five o'clock at J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
