Obituary

Hugh Richard McKinnon, age 68 of Malvern, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in The John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Administration Hospital in Little Rock. He was born in Pray, Montana on February 18, 1948 to the late Richard E. McKinnon and Joy Juanita Kantola McKinnon. Reared and receiving his early education in Nye, Montana, he graduated high school in Malvern with the class of 1966. He later attended diesel mechanic school in Nashville, Tennessee. Hugh served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and was the recipient of a Bronze Star. He was retired from Acme Brick, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Hugh loved working in the yard and tinkering on old cars and trucks. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Raymona Stanfiell McKinnon, to whom he was married on May 24, 1975; his sons, Eric McKinnon and Shane McKinnon; his daughter, Velda Keeney and her husband, Jay, all of Malvern; four grandsons, Zakkary McKinnon, Skylar McKinnon, Jacob Keeney, and Jace Keeney; his brother-in-law, Paul Locke; and his niece and nephew, Christie Storm and Kerry Locke.

Hugh was also preceded in death by his sister, Sherry Locke.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Monday morning, May 2, 2016 at ten o'clock, with Reverend LaVon Post officiating. Full military honors will follow the service on the front lawn of the funeral home.
