Imogene Cruse, age 79, of Malvern, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 in the Malvern Nursing Home. She was born in Hot Spring County on August 1, 1928 to the late Clarence and Elmira Shinn McMahan. Reared and educated in Friendship, she was a homemaker and the widow of the late Edward Cruse, to whom she was married on February 13, 1948. He preceded her in death in September of 2007. Mrs. Cruse was a member of Christ Assembly Full Gospel Church in Malvern. She was an avid reader, loved to garden, and enjoyed going fishing with her husband.

She is survived by a brother, Lyndal McMahan of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and by five sisters, Carrie Sealy of Friendship, Eva Lou Fite of Kenner, Louisiana, Violet Mae Davis of Sheridan, Melva Burris of Malvern, and Barbara Davis of Houston, Texas.

Mrs. Cruse was also preceded in death by a sister, Inez Fitzhugh Efird.

Her funeral will be two o'clock Monday afternoon, January 21, 2008 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother David Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Social Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: David Chaffin, Lynn Chaffin, Wayne Sealy, Jimmy Fitzhugh, Mike Davis, and Doye Delacruz.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary on Sunday afternoon from four until six o'clock.
