Ivin R. Brown, age 63 of Malvern, died Friday, August 12, 2011. He was born on October 10, 1947 in Des Moines , Iowa to the late Harold Ralph Brown and Lizzie Maude Burney Brown. Ivin was reared and educated in Wichita , Kansas . He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, and was stationed in Korea and Japan , working as a jet engine mechanic. His interest in mechanics continued after his military service, and for the rest of his life, he loved working on cars and motorcycles. Ivin was an avid reader, particularly of Louis L'Amour westerns. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church .

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Givens Brown, to whom he was married on July 12, 1991 in Garland, Texas; his daughter, Wendi Piatt of Piedmont, Oklahoma; seven step-children, Edwin Hill of Germantown, Tennessee, Brian Hill of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Chris Hill of Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, Traci, Virginia Ann, and Robert Gene Garrison, all of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Joseph Donald Garrison of Hooker, Oklahoma; a brother, Roger Brown of Mulvane, Kansas; two sisters, Elizabeth Steele of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Mary Peters of Wichita, Kansas; ten grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at J. A. Funk Funeral Home on Monday evening, August 15, from six until eight o'clock.

Funeral services are scheduled for ten o'clock Tuesday morning in the funeral home chapel with Reverends Troy Cate and Dooley Fowler officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are: Bryan Couch, Eric and Bart Smith, Don Terry, Ken Turner, Jason DeLoach, Taylor Piatt, Logan Garrison, Walker Piatt, and Tristen Garrison.

Memorials are requested to St. Paul United Methodist Church for children's playground equipment.
