Jackie Nettie Axelson, age 94 of Lonoke, died Saturday, July 6, 2024 at her residence.  She was born on March 12, 1930 in Mabelvale, Arkansas to the late Johnny Earl "Happy" Munson and Alma Lee Turley Munson.  She was the widow of the late Donald T. Axelson, who preceded her in death in 1969.  Jackie loved the Lord.  After the death of her husband and son in 1969, she didn't give up.  She learned to drive and started her own Day Care, working with over 1,000 children in a 10 year span.  Jackie also worked for two years as a nurses assistant at UAMS.  She loved to garden and grow flowers.  Jackie had an affinity for watching wrestling matches on TV.

She was also preceded in death by four children, Ronald Allen Axelson, Teddy Lewis Axelson, Donnie Mark Axelson, and Janice Sue Young Axelson; a granddaughter, Hope Malone; a sister, Earlene Morrison; and brothers, Bill Munson, Thomas "Dick" Munson, and Dale Eugene Munson.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Laura J. Malone of Little Rock; grandchildren, Heather Sanders, Missy McClain, Buddy Young, Angela DeSmith, Alicia Walter, Matthew Axelson, Amanda Axelson, Joe Axelson, Justin Malone, and Bradley Malone; 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from five until seven o'clock at J. A. Funk Funeral Home in Malvern.
