Jane Goodwin, age 58 of Malvern, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 6, 2016. She was born on September 22, 1957 in Wabasha, Minnesota to the late Wayland Clark Blecha and Phyllis Parker Blecha. Reared and educated in Wisconsin, Jane had lived in Malvern since 1991. She was a passionate advocate for adult literacy, and had worked in that field for 30 years. The executive director for the Hot Spring County Literacy Council for 25 years, Jane taught many people to read through the R. E. A. D. (Reading Education ADvancement) program. A tireless volunteer, she put in many long, laborious hours over the years preparing and staging the always successful R. E. A. D. Haunted House. She was also one of the first volunteers to show up during preparations for the Community Thanksgiving and Christmas Meals. For many years Jane was a member of the local Stop Animal Cruelty (S. A. C.), having served as secretary/treasurer; and of the Paws and Claws Rescue team. She fostered many dogs, and delighted in sending them to loving homes. Her circle of friends loved her deeply and she returned that love to them.

Jane was a singer/songwriter, worked with stained glass, did woodworking and crafts. She was a "Motorcycle Mama", traveling extensively on her Harley-Davidson.

She is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Bollinger of Buffalo City, Wisconsin, and Carolyn Maves of Elk Mound, Wisconsin; and a brother, Frank Blecha of Bangor, California.

Jane was also preceded in death by two siblings, Wayne Blecha and Elaine Olson.

A memorial service will be held at three o'clock Saturday afternoon, August 13, 2016 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.
