Jason L. Richard, age 45 of Poyen, died at his home on Monday, October 10, 2022.  He was born in Walker, Louisiana on July 19, 1977, to the late Kenneth Richard and Therese St. Pierre Richard.  Reared and educated in Louisiana, he has been a Malvern resident since 2005.  He was the husband of Linda Wilson Richard, to whom he was married on October 2, 2006, in Malvern.  Jason worked at the Ouachita Unit of the Arkansas Department of Corrections for 12 years, beginning as a guard, and then becoming the unit cook.  For the past six years Jason has been a cook at the Malvern Senior Adult Center.  At a point in his education, he studied criminal justice.  Jason was a strong believer in God, in whom he had a firm faith.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, LeShay Ford-House, Heather Evens-Ford, Shawna Ford, and Dylan (Crystal) Thomason; grandchildren, Glenn Ford, Kennadie Dixon, Anthony House, Jeremy House, Braydon Garland, Elijah Petty, and Aubry Petty; sons-in-law, Robert Dixon, Dillon Petty, and Zachary House; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wilson; sisters-in-law, Candy Wilson, Penny Whitlock, Angelia Butt and husband, Fred; mother-in-law, Billie Wilson; nephews, Cole Wesolowski and Logan Farr; nieces, Jada and Michaela Wilson, Michelle Hilton, Miranda Cluck, and Destiny Hewitt.

Jason was also preceded in death by grandson, Bradley Gabriel Dixon; sister, Amanda Richard; nephew Nathan Butt; and father-in-law, Willie Wilson.

A memorial service celebrating Jason's life will be on Friday afternoon, October 14, 2022, at two o'clock, in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with sister Barbara Calhoun leading the service.  Immediately following the service there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Senior Adult Center.
