Jerry Lynn Grigsby, Jr. age 48, of Cabot, formerly of Malvern, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with health complications due to being paralyzed. He died at his home in Cabot. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 25, 1961 to Jerry Lynn Grigsby, Sr. and Linda Atkins Grigsby. He graduated from Malvern High School and was an All-American high school football player in 1979-1980. He attended the University of Texas and played football for the Longhorns. He worked in a family business until his accident in 1990. Jerry was a member of First United Methodist Church of Malvern. He always said one of his regrets was not being able to serve his country in the military. Life taught him to have the heart of warrior. He battled to live each day. Jerry will be remembered for his wit and his kindness. He loved the Lord, family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Allison Rose Grigsby of Cabot; his parents, Jerry and Linda Grigsby of Hamburg; his brothers John Grigsby of Conway, and James Grigsby and his wife, Terri, and niece Emily Marie Grigsby of Cabot; and his grandmother, Voncille Atkins of Shreveport.

Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Warren and Ada Grigsby, and Reginald Buster Atkins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 22 in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church in Malvern, Arkansas. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 24 at the Presbyterian Church in Athens, Louisiana.
