Jesse Louis Tatman, age 77, of Magnet Cove, died Sunday morning, October 6, 2013 in Little Rock. He was born on September 5, 1936 in Charleston, Illinois to the late Patrick Tatman and Mildred Ella Miller Tatman. Reared and receiving his education in Illinois, he joined the United States Marine Corps and was a Korean War veteran. He returned to the U. S. and served in the Illinois National Guard. Mr. Tatman was a short distance trucker for 35 years and retired to Hot Springs Village in 1995. He attended Fairplay Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Tatman was an avid bowler and golfer.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Lawrence Tatman of Magnet Cove, to whom he was married on August 25, 2013; by three daughters, Patty Garrett (Mark) of Urbana, IL; Teri Miltenberger (Eric) of Toledo, IL; and Kym McWhorter, also of Toledo; three brothers, Paul Tatman (Elaine) of Urbana, IL; Larry Tatman (Barb) of Portsmouth, VA; and Ronnie Tatman (Karen) of Longview, IL; one sister, Charlene Pryor of Champagne, IL; two step-children, J'Ne Hutson of Little Rock, and Sean Lawrence of Magnet Cove; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jan Tatman, and by seven siblings.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. His ashes will be interred on the family plot in Zion Hill Cemetery near Mattoon, Illinois.

Honorary pallbearers are bowlers at Central Lanes in Hot Springs, and Fiesta Bowl in Hot Springs Village.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Jesse Tatman Memorial Youth Bowling Scholarship Fund c/o Southern Bancorp in Hot Springs.
