Jet Lightfoot, age 85 of Malvern, died Thursday, February 18, 2010 in the Hot Spring County Medical Center. He was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on April 28, 1924 to the late William and Myrtle Lightfoot. Jet had degrees in both engineering and agriculture. He attended the University of Tulsa, the University of Arkansas, and Henderson State University. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel, USAF, having served in World War II, Korea and Viet Nam. Jet piloted the BT13 and C123 and C124 planes while in the military, and he later joined the Civil Air Patrol.

He is survived by his daughters, Charla Ann Lightfoot Mathews and her husband Stuart of Sherwood, Arkansas, and Jo Hart Lightfoot Walters and her husband Doug of Jones Mill; by three grandchildren, Vonn Ely, Jake Ledbetter, and Andrea Reynolds; by five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Harris, Sydney Harris, Ella Ledbetter, Isaac Reynolds, and Evelyn Reynolds.

Jet was also preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Jack Lightfoot.

A memorial service will be held at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon, February 23, 2010 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Mike Green officiating. Full military honors will follow on the lawn of the funeral home by the Honor Guard from the Little Rock Air Force Base.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from six until eight o'clock.

The family will be headquartered at 513 Cherry Lane, Malvern.
