Jimmy D. Gilley, age 86, of Carthage, Arkansas, died Saturday, July 27, 2024 in Jacksonville, Arkansas.  He was born on May 16, 1938 in Tupelo, Mississippi to the late Turner Andrew Gilley and Ella Phair Gilley.  He had been a resident of Arkansas since 1989.  He was the husband of Gail Vialpando Gilley, to whom he was married on December 13, 1976.  Mr. Gilley had worked in Law Enforcement, was a professional auto body mechanic, and was an avid farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; his son, Jimmy Gilley; step-daughter Jessica Felks; and by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gilley was also preceded in death by two sons, Farren Wayne Gilley and Vince Gilley; and a daughter, Geneva K. King (Sissy).

A memorial service will be held on Saturday afternoon, August 3, 2024, at two o'clock, in the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Carthage, Arkansas, with Brother Doyle Caldwell officiating.  Private interment will be in Crowder Cemetery near Carthage on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home of Malvern.
