Joan Voss, age 79 of Malvern, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in Hot Springs.  She was born on December 28, 1941 in Hot Spring County to the late Wallace Voss and Emogene Wiley Voss.  Reared and receiving her early education in Malvern, she later earned her master's degree in mathematics from Henderson State University.  She had a varied career: Joan worked for Systematics in Dallas, Texas; taught mathematics at the University of California-Berkley; worked for Boeing Aircraft Corporation, and was an assistant to Dr. Werner Von Braun at NASA.  Joan returned to Malvern in 1988, where she has resided ever since.  She loved playing the piano at Damascus Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, DeWayne Voss and his wife, Lori, of Malvern; by a nephew, Jacob Voss; and by two great-nephews, Aiden and Kai Voss.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, and she will be interred on the family plot in Round Hill Cemetery.
